Absolutely ! A 4-year-old child is certainly ready to begin piano lessons. At this age, children are highly receptive to learning music, and I use unique teaching methods tailored to young learners to make the experience enjoyable and effective.

Q: Am I too old to start learning piano ? 我现在开始学钢琴是不是太晚了？
It is never too late to start learning piano ! I have students who started learning at 60 years old. For senior learners, we often start by playing melodies with both hands and gradually introduce simpler chords as you progress. This approach has worked very well for many of my older students.
永远不晚！我有从60岁开始学琴的学生。对于年长的初学者，我们通常先从双手演奏旋律入手，再循序渐进加入较简单的和弦。这种方式对许多成年与乐龄学习者都很有效。

Q: My fingers are short. Can I learn piano ? 我的手指短，能学钢琴吗？ 
Yes. We can choose songs with smaller chords and smaller leaps. Also, the fingerings I teach are usually tailored to students with different finger lengths.

Q:My child has special needs. Can she learn piano ? 我的孩子有特殊需要，她能学钢琴吗？
I have had the pleasure of teaching students with autism, and I’ve noticed that many of them possess remarkable memory skills. This strength often enables them to learn and perform pieces by heart, allowing them to play songs one after another with great confidence and accuracy. 
我曾经教授自闭症的学生，很多孩子记忆力非常出色，这常常帮助他们把曲子背熟并自信、准确地演奏多首作品。

Q:Can my kid learn only practical without theory ? 我的孩子只学弹奏，不学乐理可以吗？
Yes. It is not necessary for kids to learn theory to be able to play well. If your kid doesn’t like theory, I would recommend the Trinity exam board because Trinity allows students to take theory exams at any convenient time, unlike ABRSM, where passing Grade 5 theory is mandatory to register for Grade 6 and above practical exams.
如果孩子不喜欢乐理，我会推荐选择 Trinity 的考级体系，因为 Trinity 的乐理考试并无强制性而可在任何方便的时间报考。

Q: Can I just learn piano and don’t sit for exams ? 我只想学钢琴，不参加考试可以吗？
Yes. For students not sitting for exams, I will teach them pop songs and any favorite songs that can be downloaded online.
